We have one of the oldest public transportation systems in the U.S. but with that distinction comes certain hazards. Every day our members find themselves in harms way and unfortunately many members are injured on the job and in some instances lives are lost.
The Widows and Orphans Fund was established in 2001, at first to continue medical benefits for those wives and children left behind. Recently we included an educational stipend for dependent children. Each year we have tried to increase the help that the Union could provide for the families of those who lost their lives on the job.
At this time we are reaching out to all our brothers and sisters for help. Annually we have a fundraising event with a journal to support the Widows and Orphans Fund. If you are interested in donating a tax deductible gift to this charity please follow the appropriate PayPal links below.
