    Announcement Regarding Telephone Lists

The Election Committee has received a request that member's telephone numbers be supplied to an entity which will place "robo-calls." The Election Committee will comply with the request in the same manner it handles mailing requests, following a procedure developed during the 2006 election. The calling entity must be screened by the Election Committee and the entity must have an agreement with Local 100 that the phone numbers will not be shared with any candidate, will not be copied, and will not be stored for later use. The Election Committee will respond to such requests as expeditiously as possible; candidates, however, should allow five business days lead time for requests to be processed.

    Announcement Regarding Dues Arrears

If you are not a member in good standing, you are not eligible to sign a nominating petition, vote, or run for office.

You can, however, bring yourself into good standing status, and become eligible to vote for Local-wide offices, Executive Board, Division offices, and convention delegates if you act before June 1, 2009. You can do this by paying all of your dues that are in arrears. You can check what you owe by going to www.twulocal100.net and logging into your account. If you have trouble doing that, need to create an account, or believe you are in good standing; you can call the “TWU Local 100 Dues Center” at (646) 619-1000. If you pay your back dues before April 23, you will also be eligible to sign a nominating petition.

Section elections will not occur until December 2009 and January 2010. If you miss the June deadline, you can become eligible to vote in the Section elections if you pay your dues arrears before those elections.

The privileges to sign a nominating petition and vote in a union election belong to those members who maintain good standing status by paying their dues. Once you bring your dues up to date, you can resume being a full member in your union, and actively participating in union elections. We encourage you to do that.
