Samuelsen, at Verizon Rally, Slams Statewide Attack on Workers
TWU Local 100 President John Samuelsen spoke at a rally for Verizon workers represented by the CWA on West Street in lower Manhattan on June 19th. He signaled the continuing support of our union for communications workers who are being told by Verizon management that they must vacate the company’s massive facility at West and Vesey Streets so that the real estate can be converted to condos. This flies in the face of a $180 million taxpayer subsidy Verizon won after 9/11, when they committed to keeping jobs in lower Manhattan.
