Relatives of Local 100 Members Win Big in Annual TWU Scholarship Drawing--Deadline for M3's is May 31

The other scholarships are sponsored by Acrisure, M3 Technology, Pitta LLP and Pitta Bishop & Del Giorno LLC.

“This is a hard economy to think about putting a child through college,” said David Whittenburg, a Bus Operator for TA Surface. “I’m grateful that my union provides opportunities for our family to invest in my son’s education, he deserves it!”

David’s son, Elijah, is the recipient of a scholarship sponsored by Pitta LLP in the amount of $2,500 for one year. He is an aspiring engineer and is headed to Penn State for the Fall 2026 semester.

Josh Fraidstern, a Train Operator whose son Aspen is the recipient of a $2,500 one-year scholarship sponsored by Acrisure, also expressed his gratitude for the award.

“A college education is so important in today’s world and is unfortunately also very expensive,” Fraidstern said. “Anything that can bring down the cost is wonderful and greatly appreciated.”

Aspen is headed to Cornell University to study Urban and Regional Planning this fall.

Although TWU’s scholarships have all been awarded for the year, there is still time to apply for Local 100’s student scholarships, sponsored by M3 Technology—the deadline is May 31.

The funds are eligible for Local 100 members in good standing and spouses, children or grandchildren of members who are full-time students attending or accepted by an accredited two or four year college. You may submit an application by clicking here.
