Broken Subway Escalator Set for Repairs

<p>When riders get off E trains at the East 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue platform, they're packed like proverbial sardines in a can. MTA workers use flashlights to signal conductors so they do not close train doors on the many commuters, while others say they come perilously close to the edge.</p>
