Hudson Yards: Completed in 2025? - Chelsea Now

Construction at Hudson Yards will begin later this year with Brookfield Office Properties’ move to build a two-million-square-foot office tower designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill on the northeast corner of the site by 2015. Although the economic downturn prompted the developer to halt plans to build several office towers on the property, they reportedly spent the downtime researching a more cost-efficient method of constructing a deck over the rail yards on the site. Before the work begins, the Metals Purchasing Building will be demolished, and dirt will be removed at the brownfield site — land previously used for industrial purposes.
