Source: Albany WatchState Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli announced this afternoon that the New York State Common Retirement Fund had an estimated rate of return of 4.83 percent for the third quarter of the fiscal year, which ended Dec. 31. The fund was valued at $140.3 billion at that time.

That’s $800 million higher than previous press reports had stated, and $1.4 billion more than the state put forward in its draft environmental impact statement. The loan application also suggests that the administration will use toll revenues to repay the feds, meaning potentially huge toll hikes for Tappan Zee drivers without providing any effective transit option as an alternative.

That benefit allowed commuters to deduct up to $230 dollars each month from their federal taxes to offset mass transit or parking costs. But because Congress didn’t act on the federal tax break, the state one got cut too.

Seventh Street at 6 am when the men approached him. One spray-painted him in the face, another bit his fingers, and the others threw him against a pillar and punched him in the face. They then ripped his jacket, took $83, and ran out of the station toward N. Seventh Street.
