Flatbush Depot Mourns Bus Operator Wilbert Farris, 41; Sets Vigil for Friday

Union members at Flatbush Depot are mourning the untimely passing of Bus Operator Wilbert Farris, 41. He died unexpectedly after going to the hospital last week. He had six years with NYCT, working out of Flatbush Depot.

TA Surface Vice President JP Patafio said of Brother Farris: "He was one of those genuinely nice guys and a good union member. He was an avid photographer, always taking photos and sharing them. He showed up at every union function and was there to help out and get involved. He will be missed."

A candlelight vigil for Brother Farris will take place outside Flatbush Depot on Filmore Ave and 49th Street on Friday, June 7th, at 8PM. Members are invited to show their respects and white candles are requested.
