Line Equipment/Signals Mourns Lighting Maintainer Joseph Cimino, 62
Union Brothers and Sisters in Line Equipment/Signals are mourning the death of Lighting Maintainer Joseph Cimino, who passed away October 7th after a serious illness at NYU Presbyterian Hospital of Queens. Brother Cimino worked out of the 2nd Avenue Access and Protection Shop and had 24 years of service with New York City Transit.
LES Vice Chair Rosario Parlanti said that some members were crying when they heard the news. "He leaves behind a bunch of great friends from the light maintainer family," he said. "He was a good guy, humble, and always got along well with the members in the multiple locations where he worked." He leaves behind to mourn him his sisters MIchelle Rubinetti, Lilian Cimino, and Ann Pellicano, as well as nephews and nieces and grand nieces and nephews.
Local 100 President Richard Davis, Secretary-Treasurer John V. Chiarello, and MOW VP Richard Rocco expressed their condolences to the famiily.
Brother Cimino will be waked on Wednesday, October 11th, from 3PM to 8PM at the Hillebrand Funeral Home, 63-17 Woodhaven Blvd in Queens. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 12th, at Our Lady of Hope RC Church at 61-27 71st Street in Middle Village, Queens at 9:45 AM. All members are invited to pay their respects.
