Local 100 Mourns Death of Beloved Bus Operator, Nolan Orr

Local 100 and TA Surface members and officers mourned the unexpected passing of much loved Bus Operator Nolan Orr.  He died of a heart attack at age 38.  Brother Orr currently worked out of Ulmer Park, but had also worked out of Manhattanville and Jackie Gleason.  Division Chair Willie Rivera said: “Nolan was an absolute gem.  Everyone loved him.  It’s a terrible loss for his family, his friends and our union.”

Brother Orr was very active in the union, volunteering countless hours on Local 100 initiatives.  He was currently a big part of the union’s “Restore the B77” project in Red Hook.

He is survived by his wife and two children, as well as scores of friends in TWU.
