MaBSTOA Mourns Bus Operator Robert Cornick, Jr., 38

OCTOBER 13 -- Union Brothers and Sisters at Michael J.  Quill Depot are mourning the untimely death of Bus Operator Robert Cornick, Jr., on October 7th. He passed away at home. Brother Cornick had nine years with New York City Transit and most recently drove the crosstown M57 bus. He was only 38 years old. Brother Cornick's father, who has the same name, also worked out of Quill Depot as a Bus Operator until his retirement three years ago.

Division Chair Sean Battaglia said, "He was the life of the swing room. He was an extremely funny guy, always looking to make everyone laugh. He was a good friend, a good coworker, and one of those guys who always tried to cheer people up. You never saw him in a bad mood." Brother Battaglia as well as Union President Richard Davis expressed their condolences to the family. Brother Cornick wasn't married and had no children.

There will be a funeral service for Brother Cornick on Wednesday, October 18th at 10 AM at the Stradford Funeral Home at 1241 Castleton Ave, on Staten Island, NY 10310. All members are invited to attend and pay their respects.
