Retirees Hit the $100K Mark for Laid-Off Local 100 Members
TWU Local 100 retirees have now contributed $100,384.50 to the TWU Local 100 Solidarity Fund which covers medical insurance for laid-off members, These retirees – under no obligation to contribute – are showing that solidarity knows no age, income level, or occupation. The Solidarity Fund is now helping laid-off union members as they look to be re-hired or look for other work. As they do that, they have the peace of mind that comes from knowing they won’t have to pay out of pocket for health care.
The previous generation of Local 100 members made unionism and solidarity part of their lives. Today they are showing that this didn't end with retirement.
