RTO Mourns the Loss of Conductor MarcAnthony Roman, 35
MarcAnthony Roman, a Conductor in the “B” Division, passed away on Wednesday, November 25th. He was only 35 years old. A seven year veteran of NYC Transit, Roman spent most of his career working the “R” line at 95th St on the PM tour.
Roman lived in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and enjoyed rock and rap music, sports, and was a big fan of UFC mixed martial arts. He was beloved by his family, friends, and co-workers who remember him fondly. “He actually made going to work so enjoyable”, said Train Operator Tim Byrne, a friend and co-worker from the R line. “We got the job done but always found a way to have a few laughs along the way. Just thinking about those times will always make me smile”
RTO Vice President Eric Loegel also worked with Roman on the R line. “Marc was a great guy”, said Loegel. “He was one of the best conductors I worked with, and fun to be around. I can’t believe he’s gone, my heart is broken." Roman is survived by his mother and stepfather, a brother, his longtime girlfriend, and her two children.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 30th at Las Rosas Funeral Home in Brooklyn, by the 25th St. stop on the R train. You can find arrangments at this link:
