Tentative Agreement Reached with Liberty Lines

MARCH 1 -- TWU Local 100's negotiating committee at Liberty Lines has reached a tentative agreement on a new five-year contract, covering over 700 employees of the Westchester system. The Local 100 Executive Board is set to review the agreement in the coming days. It provides for:
- Significant pension improvements
- COLA for active retirees
- Fair wage increases for all titles
- Held the line with no diminished Medical Benefits
- Major improvements to longevity pay
- Improved death benefit
- Extended night differential window
- An additional holiday
- Increased bereavement leave
- Personal day Bank increase
- Vacation time Bank increase
- Uniform Allowance increase
- Uniform Cleaning Allowance increase
- Maintenance-specific gains:
- increased tool allowances
- Increased shoe allowances
- increased safety awards
Private Lines Vice President Danny D'Amato said full details will be provided to the union membership once the Local 100 Executive Board reviews and approves it.
"I would like to thank everyone who worked days and nights with me in this fight for the solid agreement we achieved for our members at Liberty Lines," he said.
He thanked Local 100 President John Chiarello, Secretary-Treasurer Carlos Bernabel, Administrative Vice President Alexander Manuel Kemp, President Emeritus Anthony Utano, Senior Executive Director Frank McCann, Counsel Denis Engel, Private Ops Division Chair Tom Monaco, and Liberty Lines Chair Robert Johnson and all the Union reps in the Liberty Lines section.
