Union Launches Media Campaign for a Fair Contract
Local 100 has launched a major paid media campaign to support the union’s efforts to win a new contract for transit workers. The ads highlight the role transit workers played in quickly restoring service after Hurricane Sandy, and rebuilding the severely damaged sections of the system over this past year.
One-minute radio spots began airing this week during the AM and PM peak drive-time periods on the major news and talk radio stations including 1010 WINS, CBS 880, WOR 710 and ABC 770. The campaign also includes a series of digital ads on key Internet outlets.
The spots ask the public to show support for transit workers by “signing” an on-line petition urging the MTA to negotiate a fair contract for transit workers. Your union asks that you and your family members sign the petition as well.
You can hear the new ad by playing the video, where we have added photos of our members on the job.
