Three people were hurt Wednesday afternoon when a taxi set off a chain-reaction collision on First Avenue, authorities and witnesses said.
The accident unfolded just after noon at 53rd Street, after a taxi rear-ended a car, according to officials.
The car then rear-ended a city bus, which was in the second lane of traffic because a truck was blocking the bus stop, according to MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz.

The transit lockbox bill passed the State Senate, where it was sponsored by Brooklyn Republican Marty Golden, and according to the Senate’s twitter feed, the vote was unanimous. The legislation, which would bar the governor from raiding transit funds while raising the political cost of legislative raids through a series of disclosure requirements, now moves to the Assembly.
