You can also access a comprehensive list of resources at: http://www.mynewyorklegalhelp.com/hurricanesandynyassistance/

You may also be eligible for the Neighborhood Recovery Fund. More about it here:

The Neighborhood Recovery Fund (NRF) is an emergency fund sponsored by Goldman Sachs Gives that was created to provide financial assistance to homeowners affected by Hurricane Sandy. NRF works to ensure that impacted New York City homeowners can access and/or maintain affordable and sustainable housing. Sustainable Neighborhoods, LLC, an affiliate of the Center for NYC Neighborhoods, administers the fund. NRF provides eligible homeowners with up to $5,000 in either a grant or interest-free loan to cover expenses incurred due to Hurricane Sandy. More about it here:

NRF assistance can be used to pay for housing-related expense not covered by FEMA, homeowners insurance, or related sources. NRF grants and interest-free loans will be made to homeowners living in Hurricane Evacuation Zones A, B, and C whose homes or essential household services were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. Check whether a property is in an eligible zone here. Please note, if a property was damaged by Hurricane Sandy and is just outside of an eligible zone, NRF may still available.  Applicants for NRF must have an annual household income at or below 200% of Area Median Income (AMI). NRF will determine, based on your income, if you qualify for a grant or interest-free loan.
