RTO Mourns A-Train Conductor Jacob Credell, 64

The men and women of Rapid Transit Operations are mourning the passing of Conductor Jacob Credell, who was one of the first transit workers to test positive for the virus. He passed on March 31, said his daughter, Natalie. He had 19 years of service with transit.

Brother Credell was born in South Carolina and moved to Brooklyn, where in addition to his duties at NYCT he served as Deacon at the Open Door Church. Apart from his daughter, he leaves three grandchildren, 14, 5, and 4, who his daughter said “will miss him so much." He also has a brother who works for NYCT.

RTO VP Eric Loegel said, “He was a friendly and good-hearted Union brother who will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his loved ones and co-workers. I wish them all the peace and comfort during these troubled times.”
