Transit Workers Honored at the NYC Hometown Heroes Parade

The city set strict limits on the number of participants. But make no mistake, the cheers and support parade watchers showed for those marching in TWU Local 100 t-shirts and behind the Local 100 banner were for each and every one of you, all titles and locations.

This doesn’t erase the mistreatment and abuse a percentage of riders inflict, but it indicates how good people feel about our good work and service.

This is one reason we marched. Transit workers deserve the city’s thanks and praise.

TWU Local 100 also used the opportunity to make a very public call for hazard pay, a message we also delivered in person to prominent politicians at the historic event.
