Update: Judge Orders MTA to Stay Schedule Changes Pending Arguments Tuesday

MARCH 19 -- New York County Supreme Court Justice Franc Perry gave an interim order today barring New York City Transit from changing scheduled F train runs. The agency was planning to shift over to a new employee pick this coming Sunday, reducing the number of trains in service. Justice Perry's order continues only until this coming Tuesday, when he will hear arguments from the Union's attorney, Arthur Z. Schwartz, and from the MTA/NYCT counsel on the matter.

Justice Perry, in his interim order, said he believed that the greater harm could come from allowing the MTA to implement the schedule change, and then having to reverse it later. TWU Local 100 Vice President Eric Loegel called the Judge's order "an encouraging sign. The status quo with respect to the F line will remain in effect. Schedules will not change on Sunday," he said.
